my father breaks our coffee table,

and the television set.

I step over the broken bits of glass spread out across the carpet

both of my parents cry,

and I learn that love is about destruction.

The deeper I get into my yoga practice , the more I just want to do yoga . I leave yoga class wishing I had another class after . I know that’s not going to get me far in life though, materialistically.

I ask myself sometimes why I was born with a humanitarian heart and the desire to do something noble , to help others rather than gain money . I’m looking for internships in my ” field ” now and can’t find any internships other than those related to practical careers .

I hope by the time I graduate I will have found the balance between realistic goals and my dreamy desires .
